Sixth Form - Enrichment
Enrichment
Sixth Form life is not just about studying academic subjects. We want you to develop as a person as well. To this end we offer a number of enrichment opportunities. These include:
-
The Sixth Form Council – you could have a role helping to shape the future of Sandy Secondary School Sixth Form.
-
Charity activities such as Macmillan Cancer Support Annual Coffee Morning, whole school non-uniform days and the Senior Citizens' Christmas Party that we have hosted for over 30 years!
-
EPQ – Extended Project Qualification. This is a research-based project of your own choice, highly valued by many universities and employers as it showcases your independent learning skills.
-
LIBF - London Institute of Banking and Finance qualification based around business. If you are interested in a career in business or finance then this could be for you.
-
Duke of Edinburgh Award - an opportunity for you to discover new interests and talents. A tool to develop essential skills for life and work; a recognised mark of achievement, respected by employers.
-
Reading Scheme – helping younger students who find reading more difficult. This could be for you if you are thinking of a career in teaching or any of the caring professions.
-
Student Mentoring – an opportunity to use your skills and knowledge to help others – again this could be for you if you are thinking of a career in teaching or any of the caring professions.
We are constantly looking to expand the opportunities that you have in your time with us and welcome any suggestion for other activities that you would enjoy.
