Random Acts of Kindness

As you all know this is a very difficult time for many members of our community. This Easter will not have been the same as any that have gone before. With this in mind, it is important that we are kind to each other and (where we can) help those who are less fortunate than us at this time. Even being a little kinder to members of our own household at this time can go a long way. Below is a list of suggested acts of kindness that you could undertake.

Send a Get Well, or Thank You, card to someone in hospital.

Donate one tin of canned food to the local food bank.

Make a blanket for animals in the local shelter.

Give someone a compliment.

Plant some flowers in your own or a neighbour’s garden, (maintaining appropriate social distance).

Spring clean your room.

Plant a tree.

Donate some flower crafts to your local retirement or care home.

Make a warm drink for your parent/carer.

Do a chore for your sibling without being asked.

Empty the bins at home.

Write a Thank You letter to the staff at your local hospital or care home.

Feed the birds.

Call your grandparents or an older member of your family.

Set the table for dinner.

Tell a joke.

Play a board game with a younger sibling.

Smile as much as you can. It really is contagious.

We will be asking members of the school community to share their Random Acts of Kindness, if you would like to be part of this then please send a photo and a comment to parentcontact@sandysecondaryschool.com.

These will then be shared through newsletters and on the school's Facebook page.
